General Manager, Round Hill Hotel and Villas
Omar Robinson is currently the General Manager of the Round Hill Hotel and Villas, located in Hopewell, Hanover, Jamaica. His experience in the industry spans over 25 years. Omar is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Organizational Leadership from Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska, USA. He attended the Nova Southeastern and Southern New Hampshire Universities, where he pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Professional Management, majoring in Hospitality Management and a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership respectively.
He presently holds the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) designation from the American Hotel & Lodging Association. In 2008, he was awarded a joint scholarship from the Caribbean Hotel & Tourist Association (CHTA) and Round Hill Hotel to attend the General Manager’s Program at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. He also holds a Master Certificate in the Essentials of Hospitality Management from Cornell University. In 2012, he was awarded the Hotelier of the Year by the JHTA.
Omar continues to be involved in tourism industry and local community. In 2016, he was appointed President of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association (JHTA) and has served the association in previous capacities as 1st Vice President and Chairman of the Montego Bay Chapter. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Educational Foundation of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourist Association (CHTA) and is a Board Director of the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF). He has previously served as the Chairman of the Northwest TVET Institute/Kenilworth HEART Management Advisory Committee and on the Board of Directors of the Tourism Product Development Corporation (TPDCO).
